Pair Of Bisque And Gilded Bronze Amphorae Decorated With Cherubs And Ram's Heads
A superb pair of Napoleon III-era amphorae, made of finely sculpted white bisque and richly chased gilded bronze.
The bodies of the vases are adorned with relief scenes depicting cherubs in a neoclassical style. The handles feature beautiful ram’s heads, embellished with leafy scrollwork in gilded bronze. The rims, collars, and bases feature chiseled ornamentation of plant motifs and decorative friezes, highlighting the elegance and quality of craftsmanship of this set.
Each amphora rests on a gilded bronze base with ornamental decoration. The distinctive feature of these pieces is their rotating, removable base, which allows the upper part to be separated from the base and the vase to be rotated. This ingenious system, characteristic of meticulous craftsmanship, allows the various sides of the decoration to be displayed with elegance.
With their rich decoration, the combination of white bisque and gilded bronze, and their striking presence, these amphorae will make a superb decorative element in a classic or refined interior.
