émile Gallé (1846–1904) – Vase With Honeysuckle Design
Émile Gallé (1846–1904) – Vase with honeysuckle decoration
An elegant, slender vase with a bulging body that tapers into a narrow neck and a flared opening.
It features a delicate honeysuckle design etched with acid. The blooming flowers, with elongated corollas and slender, protruding stamens, unfurl around the vase amid supple stems and finely veined leaves.
Shades of amber yellow, mauve pink, and deep purple stand out against an opalescent white satin background tinged with soft green. The interplay of transparency and relief lends beautiful depth to the design and highlights the delicacy of the botanical motifs.
The vase’s supple lines and the natural movement of the flowers come together to form a harmonious whole, characteristic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic.
“Gallé” signature embossed within the design.
