Large Venetian Mirror Made Of Cut And Engraved Glass – 1960s–1970s
Large mirror of Italian manufacture, presumably Venetian, dating from the 1960s–1970s.
The mirror features a vertically oriented rectangular frame with beveled upper corners, inspired by French models and reinterpreted in the decorative tradition of Venetian mirrors.
The wide frame is entirely covered with ground and faceted mirror elements, arranged in multiple tiers to create a complex interplay of reflections and depth.
The inner bands are embellished with engravings of floral motifs, scrolls, and plant clusters, executed on glass in distinctive shades of pink and amber, which contrast with the silvery surfaces of the other reflective elements.
The upper section features a geometric composition of small prismatic elements, some of which are decorated with floral engravings.
The piece as a whole evokes the Art Deco style, reinterpreted through glassworking techniques characteristic of the Venetian tradition of the late 20th century.
The mirror retains its wooden backing panel and wall-mounting system.
Condition: generally good, with slight signs of aging, minor surface scratches, and a few small chips localized at the joints of the mirrored elements, consistent with its age and use.
Dimensions: width 90 cm, height 161 cm.
