Solid Silver Sauce Spoon – Henri Soufflot – Mascaron And Flowers – 19th Century
A superb solid silver sauce spoon, crafted by the Parisian silversmith Henri Soufflot in the late 19th century.
An elegant piece of fine craftsmanship, featuring a rich and particularly refined relief decoration.
The handle, accented with fine longitudinal fluting, ends in a spoon head with flowing contours, delicately adorned with floral garlands evoking sprigs of lily of the valley.
The junction with the bowl is adorned with a remarkable mascaron depicting a bearded faun, framed by finely chiseled volutes and foliage.
The deep, oval-shaped bowl offers a beautiful simplicity that contrasts with the ornate richness of the handle.
A fine example of late 19th-century French silverwork, combining elegance, intricate detail, and high-quality chasing.
