Piaget Ring In 18k White Gold Set With A Yellow Sapphire And A Diamond
An elegant Piaget ring crafted in 1998 from 750 white gold. Its design reflects the distinctive style of Piaget jewelry from the late 20th century, combining a sleek, sculptural form, meticulously polished precious surfaces, and expressive asymmetry.
The central element is a round-cut yellow sapphire, set directly into the widened upper portion of the ring. Its intense golden-yellow hue contrasts with the cool brilliance of the white gold. To the side of the main stone, a small brilliant-cut diamond is set asymmetrically into the band. This deliberate offset from the central axis creates a subtle visual tension and lends the piece a decidedly modern and architectural character.
The ring, substantial and with harmoniously contoured lines, is almost entirely devoid of additional ornamentation, thus focusing attention on the interplay between volumes, color, and gemstones. This minimalist approach reflects Piaget’s exploration of the malleability of gold and the use of colored gemstones, which played a significant role in the Maison’s jewelry vocabulary during the second half of the 20th century.
Hallmarks and marks: The inside of the ring is engraved with “750,” “A84710,” “56,” “S,” the “PIAGET” signature accompanied by the © symbol, and the date “1998 .” The 750 hallmark corresponds to 18-karat gold. The main marks are clearly legible in the photographs.
