Baccarat Cut Crystal Water Jug, Juvisy Model (official Elysée Service) Label

The Juvisy model is one of the crystal glassware manufacturer’s most famous designs, chosen by Emile Loubet in 1899 to become the official service of the Élysée Palace.

This superb design, created in 1867 for the World’s Fair, is a masterpiece: it consists of scales intertwined with one another, yet all identical, with no misalignment whatsoever. It is through the perfection of these pieces (entirely handcrafted!) that one can appreciate Baccarat’s technical supremacy. The stems and bases are cut in a star shape.

An antique piece, it has retained its rare paper label, which has generally been lost. The design is featured in numerous tableware catalogs from the late 19th and 20th centuries.
As a collector’s item, these ewers are the rarest and most luxurious pieces in this collection.

It is in excellent condition; no damage, original stopper.
