Allegory Of The Hunt, Hunting Scene; Napoleon III-era Bronze Miniature On A Faux Porphyry Background
An interesting miniature with an allegorical hunting scene, in the form of a trophy of hunting weapons—a rifle, a hunting dagger, a game bag, and a whip—from the first half of the 19th century. The miniature consists of the trophy in gilded bronze, set against a background painted to resemble green porphyry marble within an oval frame of blackened wood with visible gilded brass trim. On the back is a piece of antique paper.
Ideal for complementing a hunting trophy room or a 19th-century neoclassical decor with one of those small details that create an authentic atmosphere.
In very good condition, composed of antique elements; the piece works verywell and looks natural. Beautiful quality gilding and chasing.
Frame: 22 cm x 18.8 cm
