Louis XVI Period Portico Clock In Gilt Bronze With Mercury And Marble - 52cm
Large gilt bronze and marble portico clock, monumental model with double columns in black and white marble, adorned with a very rich trim of chased and mercury gilded bronzes in matt and glossy with scrolling motifs, acanthus leaves, garlands of fruit. At the top, an eagle with outstretched wings. Enamel dialsigned Dubois Fils, rue Saint Honoré 20, Paris, and chased gilt bronze hands. Late Louis XVI period, just before the Revolution.
