An Important Empire Period Mahogany And Gilt Bronze Console In The Jacob Desmalter Style.

Important console in mahogany and mahogany veneer over oak, fine productionearly 19th-century production; pilastered back legs and bandedand gilded bronze, topped with green Levanto molded marble with red inclusions. It opens with a large drawerfitted with a trefoil lock. The back is adorned with a beautiful mercury mirror with glittered sheen over the entire surface. Richly decorated with chased and gilded mercury bronzes such as column rings, palmettes and key escutcheons. Parisian Empire-period production, circa 1810.

The quality and richness of the gilded bronzes (the capitals of thecapitals of the columns) and the use of rare, luxurious marble, our console table is typical of the furniturefurniture found in the apartments of Princes in ImperialImperial Palaces. It may have been produced by Jacob Desmalter or MarcionMarcion, who also produced this type of console for the Imperialfurniture. Without a stamp, it is difficult to attribute this console to either of these two cabinetmakers, who were the main supplierssuppliers to the Imperial Palaces and the Empire's dignitaries.

Beautifulamateur's model, sober but truly different from current productions.

Perfect condition, fully restored with a brand new stamped varnish. We don't have the trefle key, but can have one made for 300€.
