Sèvres soft-paste porcelain sugar pot, sugar bowl or sauceboat, floral decoration enhanced by a blue combed border with gold fillets, known as Monsieur le Premier. Blue mark with two interlaced Ls,letter date Z for 1777, marks of painter Étienne-Henri Evans, active at theManufacture Royale de Sèvres between 1752 and 1806. This is a production under Louis XVI of a design created under Louis XV.
Beautiful collector's item in very good condition. Very fresh and well-preserved color and gilding.
The lid was formerly (in the 18th century) trimmed for the passage of a spoon, which can only be done with soft porcelain. A firing defect on the inside.
