Gilt Bronze And Enamel Clock With Bird Decoration — Japy Frères Movement — Circa 1880–1900
A charming gilt bronze table clock, adorned with polychrome enamel panels depicting birds, butterflies and flowering branches against a turquoise background.
The Japanese-inspired decoration extends across the sides and top of the case. The frame, embellished with ornamental friezes and beaded borders, rests on four small feet and features a hinged carrying handle.
The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals and finely pierced hands. The mechanical movement bears a star-topped monogram on its backplate, most likely that of Japy Frères & Cie.
