Regulate Clock, Signed A. Moreau – Late 19th Century

This regula clock with double patina, green and brown, is a work signed on the terrace by Auguste Moreau (1834-1917) taken from a sculpture entitled Petit Porteur d'Eau. This subject represents a cherub standing on a textured base evoking the earth. The young person holds aloft, using a rope, a spherical clock decorated with golden Roman numerals, contrasting with the lighter color of the regula.
