The decoration, entirely hand-painted, displays superb polychromy and rich ornamentation:
- The rims are adorned with a wide, continuous frieze alternating between a delicate band of stylized flowers (blooming carnations or cornflowers in shades of pink and purple) set against a finely dotted (“sanded”) background gold and black, accented with tendril and foliage motifs in soft green.
- The body of the cup and the dish of the saucer feature an elegant, continuous decoration consisting of a scattering of brilliant gold stars (or barbel).
- The gold highlights are accentuated by superb, delicate friezes of gilded “wolf’s teeth” and gold fillets along the border, typical of high-end Parisian productions rivaling those of Sèvres.
