Marquetry Chest Of Drawers, Louis XV–louis XVI Transition Style – Mid-20th Century
This superb Transition-style chest of drawers with a central recessed panel elegantly embodies the refinement of art furniture. Crafted from a sumptuous veneer combining rosewood, mahogany, rosewood, and delicate lemonwood inlays, it captivates with the exceptional care taken in its geometric marquetry featuring lozenges and trefoils, enhanced at the center by a bouquet of flowers tied with great finesse. It is crowned with a magnificent white marble top whose contours follow the chest’s lines. It opens with two large drawers adorned with pull rings and finely chiseled gilded bronze trim, while the piece rests on four curved legs, enhanced at the front by ornate bronze finials and feet, adding an irresistibly majestic finishing touch.
