Pavel Ovchinnikov. Silver Ark With Glass Enamel. Moscow, 1899–1908
The exceptionally refined enamel work reveals admirable technical mastery: the cloisonné lines delicately outline the silhouettes of the birds and plants, while the vitreous areas lend lightness and depth to the scene. The curved handle, decorated with floral motifs in polychrome enamel and fine gilded details, is particularly eye-catching. The piece as a whole is imbued with Art Nouveau aesthetics and reflects the finest traditions of the Moscow school of enamel.
