Crimson red silk damask.
Dimensions: 120 × 45 cm (47.24 × 17.72 inches).
Panel decorated with vases holding arrangements of leafy branches, stylised pomegranates and carnations. The motifs extend horizontally, linked by scrolling stems. The pattern emerges through the contrast between the lustrous and matte surfaces of the weave.
Attributed to an Italian workshop, probably Florentine.
Good condition, with minor signs of age. Restored. Retains an antique lining in natural-coloured plain-weave fabric.
