"17th Century Italian Damask Silk "
Large Italian damask silk bedspread from the 17th and 18th centuries decorated with tulips, pomegranates, herringbone patterns and winding plant friezes. The assembly is period. The filoselle lining, as well as the braid and fringes, are original. Some minor repairs to note (see photo). Minor wear to the silk, in places on the sides only. Two traces of halos at the foot of the bedspread (approximately 5 cm for the largest). Colour still fresh. Good condition. Dimensions of the top: 210 cm by 140 cm wide. Height of the scalloped flap on three sides: 70 cm without fringes. 76 cm with fringes.
