Chipboard Stool By Max Bill, Ulm, Circa 1962
Artist: Max Bill
A stool designed as part of the Ulm School of Design (HfG Ulm), based on the model developed in 1954 by Max Bill with Hans Gugelot and Paul Hildinger. This streamlined version was produced beginning in 1962 in the HfG Ulm workshops.
Made of particleboard panels with turned wooden crossbars, it could serve as a seat, a small table, or an auxiliary module. Its simple and economical construction directly reflects the functional principles taught at Ulm.
