1930 Airplane Carousel - Spirit Of Saint Louis - Polichinelle Brand -
A carousel featuring 8 painted tin airplanes in various colors, manufactured by Polichinelle around 1930.
They are modeled after Charles Lindbergh’s 1927 Spirit of St. Louis.
Each airplane measures 10 cm x 10 cm; the carousel’s diameter is 42 cm.
It consists of a wooden base with an axle on which the carousel rests; it spins at the slightest touch.
A small French flag is meant to hold the metal bar of the winning airplane in place, but it is starting to come loose and no longer serves its purpose.
Can be placed on a table or hung on the wall as a wall mount.
An extremely rare item when complete, as shown here.
