Published in Paris by E. Dentu, Bookseller and Publisher in 1875. This series is essential for the history of 19th-century music. It brings together the librettos of the greatest masterpieces of Romantic opera and French “Grand Opéra,” set to music by legendary composers such as Meyerbeer, Verdi, Rossini, Donizetti, Auber, Halévy, and Gounod.

  • Binding: Contemporary green half-shagreen. Spine with 5 false ribs highlighted by gold fillets, adorned with small gold floral motifs. Titles, volume numbers, and the phrase “Complete Works” stamped in fine gold.
  • Overall condition: Very good condition. Uniform bindings; spines retain their original color (no sun damage). Very slight normal wear on the joints and caps. Interior is fresh with rare, scattered foxing spots. Original blue fabric bookmarks preserved in each volume.
