Pair Of Art Nouveau Enamel Vases With Irises, Manufacture De Montjoye (legras)
Artist: Legras
Stunning pair of Solipsisme vases/flower vases featuring irises – Manufacture de Montjoye (Legras) – Art Nouveau period (circa 1900)
A very beautiful and rare pair of tubular vases with flared bases on tripod feet made of pinched glass, crafted from translucent crystal by the famous Manufacture de Montjoye / Legras & Cie in Saint-Denis, circa 1900.
Each vase features a delicate, hand-painted enamel decoration depicting stunning wild irises in purple and yellow with slender foliage. The neck is accented with fine gold leaf. The base, hot-worked, rests on three stylized, attached feet made of tinted glass, highly characteristic of the naturalistic repertoire of Art Nouveau.
The enamel work is remarkably delicate, lending beautiful depth to the details of the petals and stems.
