Early 17th-century Oil On Canvas. *the Sermon Of St. Francis De Sales* On A Sandblasted Roman Frame

An interesting painting on its original canvas depicting "The Sermon of St. Francis de Sales"—a work from the Roman school, attributable to the devotional works of the painter Lazzaro Baldi (Pistoia, 1624–1703, Rome) and his close circle.

As it comes from a noble collection, the painting has never been on the antique market and has been left on its original canvas; therefore, it requires cleaning and conservative restoration. It should be noted that the canvas shows no gaps or holes and is thus an unblemished canvas that has never been touched. The same applies to its splendid contemporary gilded and sandblasted frame, which remains in excellent condition, displaying the well-preserved original pure gold leaf.

The canvas measures 98 cm x 133 cm in height; the dimensions including the frame are 116 cm x 158 cm.
The painting comes with a historical certificate of authenticity attesting to its period and authenticity. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
