Glazed Stoneware Candy Dish With A Flamed Finish - Charles Greber - Beauvais 1910–1925
Candy jar or lidded jar made of glazed stoneware, round and flattened in shape, decorated with drips and flame marks in a beautiful palette of ochre yellow, brown, honey, and green.
The slightly domed lid is topped with a scalloped handle-shaped knob, characteristic of the decorative style of Charles Gréber’s work. The running glazes form a spontaneous and nuanced design across the entire piece.
The base bears an incised signature “C. Gréber.”
French piece, circa 1910–1925.
Very fine quality stoneware and glaze, with a particularly interesting antique patina.
