A very beautiful appetizer set in solid silver and vermeil by Émile Puiforcat, a model known as “Mascaron” by the House of Puiforcat.

The bladeof each piece is open worked with lily buds, while the base features a jester’s head chiseled in high relief. The reverse forms a cartouche and is engraved with a Gothic monogram bearing the initials C&Mor G&M. The vermeil parts are delicately engraved and/or re-pierced with extreme finesse; the button is also flanked on the back by avermeil mascaron.

The set is presented in its original case, the exterior of which shows some signs of wear and missing sections, and the clasp is inoperable; the interior, lined with wine-red velvet and silk, is in very good condition.

The four pieces: 15.8 cm, 16cm, 17.5 cm, and 16.3 cm (6.22 in., 6.3 in., 6.89 in., and6.42 in.)
