Giardinetti Ring With Diamonds, Rubies, Emeralds, And Sapphires – 19th Century
A charming ring in the spirit of Giardinetti jewelry, crafted in 18-karat gold and silver, adorned with a rich, multicolored floral arrangement.
At the center, an oval sapphire is surrounded by a corolla of vintage-cut diamonds. The design extends from this central flower into a symmetrical arrangement of rubies, emeralds, and diamonds, evoking flowers, buds, and foliage.
The Italian term Giardinetti, literally meaning “little gardens”, refers to jewelry with floral motifs in which precious and colored gemstones are arranged to form stylized bouquets. Very much in vogue from the 18th century onward, this decorative style continued and was reinterpreted in the 19th century.
