Small Louis XIII-style Desk, Made Of Oak, Dating From The 10th–19th Centuries
Small Louis XIII-style oak desk – 19th century
Elegant small Louis XIII-style oak desk from the 19th century, featuring beautiful proportions and a lovely antique patina.
The front features a wide drawer, whose panel is beautifully carved with a design of scrolls and foliage arranged around the keyhole. The sides are simply molded and paneled.
The desk rests on four twisted legs, characteristic of the Louis XIII style, joined at the base by a twisted crossbar, which lends the piece a great deal of character.
Its rectangular, slightly overhanging, and molded top retains a beautiful patina. Its particularly compact size allows it to be used as a small desk, writing table, or side table.
