Silver basket crafted in 1916 by the Dutch silversmith J.M. Van Kempen & Zonen.
Oval and flared in shape, it features intricate openwork with Art Nouveau-style floral motifs. The design combines flowers, foliage, sinuous scrolls, and stylized ears of wheat or grain, arranged within an openwork pattern that extends around the entire circumference of the basket.
The lower section is adorned with an engraved design featuring the same botanical motifs, including flowers and broad scrolls. The upper border, cut out and undulating, follows the lines of the design. The entire piece rests on four ornate legs.
The basket bears the hallmarks of J.M. Van Kempen & Zonen as well as the date letter G, corresponding to the year 1916.
