Pair Of Flintlock Pistols 18th Century
A beautiful pair of flintlock pistols from the Louis XVI period, with horn grips. The octagonal, rifled barrels are 14 cm long, with their muzzles decorated with a gold frieze and marked in gold letters as well: PEINET à PARIS; the lockplate is also signed PEINET; walnut stock. The pair is in very good working condition.
Having become the King’s arquebusier, PEINET specialized in producing high-quality, refined firearms, which are highly prized by collectors and are quite rare. In 1805, during the Empire, he was even awarded a silver medal.
