Bronze Sculptures Depicting The Theme Of Vineyards And Viticulture

A pair of bronze sculptures depicting a couple representing viticulture. They rest on square pedestals made of veined white marble. These figures are dressed in 18th-century costumes:
—the young woman wears vine leaves and bunches of grapes in her hair, as well as in her left hand, in which she also holds a richly decorated banner made of mercury-gilded brass.
- The young man holds a bottle of wine in his left hand and carries a candle lantern made of mercury-gilded brass; it is openwork and richly decorated with mascarons, and can hold six small candles.
19th-century work from the Napoleonic III period. Originates from a vineyard near Beaune in Burgundy.
These small bronze figurines were used in particular during celebrations of Saint Vincent (patron saint of grape pickers).
The marble bases measure 8.5/8.5 cm.
The figures measure 13 cm.
The statuette of the young girl is 24.5 cm tall, and that of the young man is 21.5 cm tall.
