Sarreguemines – Pair Of Art Nouveau / Liberty-style Vases In Glazed Earthenware – France, Circa 1902
An elegant pair of Art Nouveau vases made by the Faïencerie de Sarreguemines, France, in the early 20th century, circa 1902.
The vases feature a slender shape with a cylindrical neck and an outward-flaring rim, decorated with a refined, stylized floral motif typical of the Art Nouveau style. The glaze features a delicate gradation from blue at the top to green at the bottom, with large olive-green stems and leaves and buds in shades of pink and magenta.
The base bears the SARREGUEMINES mark stamped into the clay, accompanied by production numbers and codes, including the clay batch code 227 and a probable date indication 02 / 8, consistent with production in August 1902.
The pair retains its original surface and patina, with normal signs of aging and slight wear on the gilding at the edges, consistent with its age.
