Pair Of Japanese Porcelain Cups - Shôchikubai-mon
This lovely pair of cups, decorated with enamel in the Imari color palette, depicts the “Three Friends of Winter”—pine, plum, and bamboo (Shôchikubai)—along with a few maple flowers meant to symbolize late autumn. On the reverse is a Chinese mark from the Chenghua reign. Edo period (1603–1868), 18th century.
