"folies" Veiled Dancer Sculpture, Signed By Denis, Max Le Verrier, And Bouraine—art Deco, 1920
Artist: Le Verrier
A legendary, vintage-edition sculpture of a veiled dancer, or “Folies,” from the Art Deco period around 1920, created by Marcel Bouraine for the Le Verrier workshops. It depicts a dancer holding a stylized veil, striated with geometric lines, in her hands, standing on a massive Portor marble base with double tiers. Beautiful original patina in nuanced blue-green tones, cast in art cast iron, a material unique to the Le Verrier workshops. The sculpture is signed in relief with “Denis,” the pseudonym of Marcel Bouraine, and was produced by the Max Le Verrier workshops.
