"tourbillon" Dancer Sculpture Signed Fayral, Max Le Verrier Le Faguays 12,6" - Art Deco, 1923
Artist: Pierre Le Faguays, Fayral & Max Le Verrier
A rare and iconic sculpture from an early edition—"Dancer with Ribbon" or "Tourbillon" (Whirlwind)—dating to the Art Deco period (circa 1923) by Pierre Le Faguays (also known as Fayral), a renowned sculptor of the era. It depicts an elegant dancer mid-spin, holding a ribbon between her hands, set upon a stepped Portor marble base. It features a beautiful, nuanced light-green original patina characteristic of early editions. Crafted from "fonte d'art" (art metal)—a material specific to the Le Verrier workshops—the piece bears the incised signature "FAYRAL," the engraving "Made in France," and was produced by the Max Le Verrier workshops.
