House-Shaped Wedding Globe in a Glass and Brass Greenhouse — Late 19th Century
​A rare and elegant wedding set from the Napoleon III period (late 19th century), presented in a display case/greenhouse made of glass and a gilded brass frame with beveled sides and a gabled roof, featuring glass doors that open.
​Wedding cushion: Made of the original red tufted velvet, in perfect condition, upon which the bridal crown rests.

​Ornamentation and symbolism: Rich repoussé and gilded brass decoration depicting foliage, flowers, and gilded textiles. The crown is embellished with crystal rhinestones and topped by a central globe/mirror framed by stars and floral motifs.

​Structure: Freestanding display case made of brass and beveled/engraved glass at the back, resting on small carved feet.

​Condition: Good overall condition considering age and use. Beautiful original patina on the brass. Well-preserved velvet, vivid gilding. (One of the upper glass panels has two cracks).
