Original 18th-century German Copper Engravings, Hand-colored.
These plates are grouped in sets of three under a mat and presented in beautiful oak frames. The set includes a total of 12 plates, taken from Johann Wilhelm Weinmann’s famous work *Phytanthoza Iconographia ” (Phanthologia Magna) by Johann Wilhelm Weinmann or from similar 18th-century German publications.
The outlines and shadows were printed from copper plates and then hand-colored with watercolors by master colorists. It is precisely this hand-coloring that makes each plate unique.
This collection of 4 series, each containing 3 engravings (for a total of 12 pieces), has been curated around the theme of medicinal botany and historical pharmacopoeia.
These 4 series will enhance any interior. The prints are in excellent condition.
