Pierre Étienne Toulhoat (1923–2014).
A draftsman with theCivil Engineering, he joined the Resistance
and then became a journalist at the end of the war.
Hispassion for drawing led him to the École Nationale Supérieure
des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1947(sculpture track).
At the same time, he honed his skills in stained glass
(he had worked as a stained-glass artisanin Quimper at Le Bihan-Saluden)
in the Bony and Le Chevalier studios in Paris.
He collaboratedwith the new Keraluc pottery from its founding
and taught ceramics andsculpture
at the Regional School of Fine Arts in Quimper.
After graduating, Toulhoat returned homein 1951 to establish
his ceramics and stained-glass studio.
In 1956, he added a jewelry studioto produce
his own collection alongside his wife, Yvonne.
A versatile and prolific artist,he created jewelry, stained glass,
ceramics, sculptures, posters,
furnishing fabrics, and religious banners.
Toulhoat’s inquisitive nature, as an engineer and inventor,
combined with his passion for science and technology
(particularly artisanal techniques),
led him tomaster most of the production process
and adapt it to his own style by utilizingall technical aspects
to arrive at the actual creation.
Pierre Toulhoat wasnever truly concerned with fame,
prioritizing his work instead.

Georges Allier (1912–1994).
A graduate of the Nantes School of Fine Arts.
Throughout his life, he practiced drawing, painting,
sculpture, printmaking, and watercolor.
A versatile yet extremely discreet artist, much like
Pierre Toulhoat, he never sought to exhibit in galleries.
He joined Kéraluc when themanufactory was founded in 1946
and remained there until his retirement, during which time, as an outstanding decorator,
he paintedpieces of the highest quality.
