Tobacco Pot Made From Finely Carved Coconut.
A tropical seascape scene with a sunset and two coconut palms in the foreground. A Greek key pattern adorns the upper section, while the lower section features a frieze of stylized leaves. The lid is rimmed with tin and has a carved wooden handle in the shape of a foliate coconut. The container and the underside of the lid are made of coconut, wood, and tin. Early 19th century. Very good condition. Height: 13 cm. Diameter: 11 cm.
