Large Neoclassical Column-shaped Cabinet Made Of Painted, Fluted Wood – 19th Century
An elegant and imposing 19th-century column-case, made of carved and painted wood, in the neoclassical style.
Cylindrical in shape, it features a tall shaft marked by deep vertical flutes, enhanced by polychrome painting in shades of cream and antique green.
It rests on a substantial, molded circular base 55 cm in diameter and is topped by a circular shelf 35 cm in diameter, designed to hold a bust, a sculpture, a vase, or a collectible.
The paintwork has a pleasant antique patina, with wear and subtle variations that reveal the different layers of polychrome in places, giving the piece a great deal of character.
