An elegant Empire-style console table, crafted from mahogany and mahogany veneer with a beautiful flamed grain, dating from the early 19th century.

Rectangular in shape, the front features a wide, belt-style drawer, highlighted at its center by a gilded bronze keyhole depicting a laurel wreath—an emblematic motif of the Empire decorative repertoire.

The front is supported by two freestanding mahogany columns, adorned with rich, finely chiseled gilt-bronze bands. They are surmounted by remarkable gilded bronze sconces depicting warriors in the classical style, arranged as a pair: one wearing a helmet and armed with a spear and shield, the other clad in a cloak and wearing a classical-style headdress. This decoration, directly inspired by Greco-Roman motifs, gives this console table a particularly decorative presence

The back of the console table features a mirror, positioned between the rear posts and above the crossbar. This element adds depth and brightness to the piece while accentuating its architectural design.
