Empire Console Decorated With Satyrs Italy Circa 1810
Empire Console with Satyr Decor Italy circa 1810
Description:
This small Empire-period console combines bold chromatic choices with Neoclassical refinement, typical of early 19th-century Italian workshops. Crafted from mahogany, it stands out with its carved satyr uprights, whose green lacquered legs add a unique touch to the piece.
The apron drawer, subtle yet functional, complements this primarily decorative piece. The gilding and sculpted detailsof the satyrs, inspired by Greco-Roman mythology, reflect the Empire’s fascination with antique themes.
Both theatrical and elegant, this console will fit seamlessly into an interior where history, art, and originality converge.
