Gama Sennin is traditionally depicted as a wandering monk or hermit dressed in slightly worn robes, with a smile on his face. On his shoulder or in his hands, he always holds his essential attribute: a three-legged toad, a symbol of wealth and immortality.
This piece is crafted from bronze with a dark patina, featuring a masterful and extremely refined rendering of the folds in the clothing. The signature is located on the back.
The Honma Takusai dynasty was particularly renowned for its unique and exceptional casting technique.
