A magnificent set of two oil paintings depicting the same architectural landscape, painted by the French artist Jean-Marie PEYER (signatures appear in the lower right corner of each work).

​Subject: An architectural and woodland composition with striking areas of light, depicting a white-walled building shaded by majestic trees. The interplay of cast shadows is highly graphic.

​Technique: Oil on canvas mounted on panel (diptych presented in relief within a single frame).

​Signature: Signed “J.M. Peyer” in the lower right corner of both panels.

​Framing: Modern black wooden American-style box frame with a beige/taupe heathered fabric mat that adds beautiful depth to the piece.
