Pair Of 19th-century Bronze Putti Candleholders
Pair of gilded bronze candlesticks with putti – 19th century
A beautiful pair of gilded bronze candlesticks in the Neo-Renaissance style, dating from the second half of the 19th century.
Each candlestick features a standing putto supporting a lyre-shaped motif. The upper section consists of a wide, openwork bowl with a foliage design, surmounted by a richly ornamented finial.
The tripod bases are finely decorated with foliage, acanthus leaves, volutes, and chimera heads. The entire piece rests on three feet with scrollwork.
Fine cast bronze with an antique patina. Wear on the gilding, traces of oxidation, a few minor imperfections, and visible historical restorations, particularly on the bases.
