17th-century Bronze Candleholder
Large bronze candlestick, formerly silver-plated, 17th–18th century
A beautiful, large bronze candlestick resting on a molded triangular base that ends in three paw-shaped feet.
The tall stem, elegantly turned and accented by several steps and moldings, supports a wide circular candle holder and a cylindrical cup.
The bronze retains traces of its original silver plating in places, giving it a beautiful, nuanced patina and attesting to its age.
