Pair Of Miniature Bronze Candlesticks - 17th Century

A rare pair of miniature bronze candlesticks, dating from the 17th century, resting on a triangular base with three ball-shaped feet. The turned shaft, with the elegant bulges characteristic of the Louis XIII period, is topped by a wide candle cup and a spout designed to hold the candle directly.

Miniature candlesticks of this quality are particularly rare. They faithfully reproduce the proportions and decorative style of the large models found in churches or castles, in a smaller format, likely intended for a private oratory, a cabinet of curiosities, or domestic devotional use.

The beautiful antique patina, signs of use, and slight irregularities in the cast iron attest to their authenticity and age. This is a set of great simplicity, characteristic of 17th-century French production, which has become difficult to find today.
