Short biography: He studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris during the 1920s and 1930s, a place where he was exposed to European artistic movements such as Fauvism and Expressionism.

This experience had a major impact on his work, helping him incorporate Western techniques—such as perspective and greater abstraction—while remaining faithful to traditional Chinese painting.

His years in Paris enriched his artistic approach, allowing him to create a dialogue between Western art and classical Chinese themes.

Upon his return to China, Zhang Hua continued to fuse these influences into a personal body of work that reflected both Chinese cultural heritage
