Blue Opaline Bottle With A Gold-pompon-adorned Bronze Mesh In The Napoleon III Style
Featuring a medallion set under glass depicting the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, this is a beautiful souvenir from the Second Empire. It is a flag-blue opaline perfume bottle of the so-called “rice grain” quality. It has a flattened pear shape and is covered with a latticework of foliage engraved in gold pomponne, the small, sandblasted glass stopper is missing, and the hinged “cap” has come loose from the bottle; it can be reattached if desired, though this is not necessary.
