Mother-of-pearl And Silver Pectoral Cross From 1891
This very pretty pectoral crucifix cross is made of white mother-of-pearl and reinforced on the back and ends with a chased silver return. On the back, it is engraved "Marie Tissot, March 15, 1891." One can imagine that this cross commemorates the date of a girl's First Communion, or perhaps the entry of a woman into a convent... let you write its story! The Christ figure is also made of silver, of course.
