Pair Of Bohemian Ruby Crystal Perfume Bottles With Gilt Decoration, Circa 1900

A pair of ruby-red tinted crystal perfume bottles with bell-shaped bodies and tiered pedestals, topped with their original baluster stoppers, featuring rich hand-painted decoration enhanced with gilding depicting foliage scrolls, rocaille volutes and bouquets of flowers.

At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, ruby-red crystal toiletries sets embellished with hand-painted gilding were hugely popular throughout Europe. Meticulously crafted by Bohemian glassmakers and the great French crystal manufacturers, these intensely coloured bottles added a touch of elegance and refinement to dressing tables and vanity units.
