19th-century Carved Wooden "black Forest" Pipe Holder Depicting A Dog
Carved from a single wooden panel, this is a beautiful hunting dog in profile against a pastoral backdrop. The panel features a pipe rack mounted on hinges. This piece, known as "Black Forest" woodwork, dates from the second half of the 19th century and originates from Switzerland. Over time, the panel has slightly warped (see photo), but this does not detract from its beauty.
